Alcoholism - Danger zones, consequences.

Addiction in physical state and psychologically can be stated as alcoholism. It is most widely used drug in the world. It decreases the life span of the person by affecting the brain, CNS, heart, pancreas and stomach. Many people encounter trauma and head injures which remains major threat to ones living.
Generally it is consumed to relieve mood outs, tensions, problems because when consumed it relaxes and the sense they perceive is good and their dependence start psychologically. It is also consumed with friends, colleagues and for fun too.
Consumption of alcohol in large quantities results in physical dependence and if consumption stops person start showing WITHDRAWL SYMPTOMS like shaking, sleeplessness, anxiety and nervousness.
Patients in Danger:
• Consumption of alcohol Secret.
• Consumption early in the morning.
• Consumption in Binges.
• Anxiety and Tremors.
• Holes caused by cigarette on clothes and marks over the body.
• Puffy and flushed face and palms.
Consequences of Alcohol:
• Severe illness is caused due to its toxic effects and even injuries are more prone.
• Damage to CNS alters memory and avoids thinking logically.
• Damage to Cerebellum results n problem of balance and falls occur so frequent.
• Damage to Peripheral nerves results in decreased sensation and burns occur frequently.
• While Alcohol travels through stomach it irritates gastric lining and causes gastric distress, swelling and imbalances of acid.
Cancer (due to suppression of immune system) for mouth and esophagus, ulcers, Burns (insensitivity due to intoxication), Arrhythmias (abnormal heart eats due to toxic effects on heart), hernias, pneumonia (due to Aspiration of vomits), hypoglycemia (due to damage to liver), pancreatitis (affect on pancreas) and chronic gastritis (due to irritation of stomach lining) is likely caused for the heavy drinkers.
- Bleeding becomes very easy and clotting ability becomes poor.
- If the blood alcohol levels increased beyond 400mg/dl Death occurs, can be due to rapid drinking. Death occurs due to respiratory suppression, aspiration of vomitus, injuries especially to head.
Withdrawal seizures:
- If a person habituated to drink daily and stops taking it all of a sudden he /she develop withdrawal symptoms n 12 – 48 hrs.
Delirium Tremens:
- Highest form of complications associated with delirium tremens. Symptoms start from 48 – 72 hrs. Confusion, fever, sweating, tremors, agitation are some of the symptoms.
