What drives you into DEPRESSION

Everyone in his life time gets depressed or feel symptoms related to depression it can be mood out’s, sadness, hopelessness.

Suffering with depression can last for longer periods or can be shorter. It needs care from the Professionals, Family, Friends, Teachers, and can be anyone.

Try to know the mood disorders, causes, risk factors and treatment involved to lead a positive and a healthy life.

When a person has the depression disorder it affects his Daily Activities. It is a common problem and a serious problem where the attention has to be taken like all other medical problems. It can be considered as disease, dysfunction, illness or a disorder.

Seasonal Affective Disorder: Most commonly seen in winter seasons and most often seen in areas where the natural sunlight is less. Light therapy is the main stay treatment even sometimes it fails then naturally it treated with anti depressant medications and psychotherapy.
Psychotic depression: Generally got mixed up with some episodes of psychosis i.e. departing form the reality, False beliefs(delusions), illusions(False perceptions).
Major depressive disorder: It affects the sleep, eat, work, other activities. Enjoyment and happy moments remains less. He/she may have combinations or cluster of symptoms or a single with no interest and pleasure. It can be psychosocial, psychological and can be hereditary.
Dysthymic disorder: when one experiences depression or symptoms associated for two or more years it makes a person think in a way that is not normal. People with is dysthymic will experience depression one or two times in their life cycle. It has less severity when compared to major depressive disorder. It is chronic and illness remains for extended period.
Post partum depression: After the delivery in a month the mother goes into depressive mood not for every one but accounts for 14.5% people.
Bulimia nervosa (Eating too much) & Anorexia Nervosa (Eating very low): The disorder related to eating it is characterized by excessive eating or eating very low. The main reason can at times of depression.
Bipolar disorders: It is a mental disorder caused by losing loved ones, depression, Hallucinations, Anxiety, Delusions, Psychotic disorders caused by brain. It is generally caused due to stress in turn affects on memory, impulse control and also on information transmitted by neurons. Drugs that are used in schizophrenia are used to treat bipolar disorder.

Causes:
•    Lack of interest: these people don’t have interest and fed up with the daily activities of life.

•    Other psychological disorders. Anxiety disorders, eating disorders, schizophrenia appear along.

•    Loss of Appetite: It can be in activities related to eating and sleeping and can be every thing.

•    Retardation of Psychomotor activities: Actions done at very slow rate and feeling they don’t have enough energy to do.

•    Energy loss. These persons don’t have energy to do any thing they feel tired all the time.

•    Problems with Concentration: Picking tasks, paying attention, putting concentration every thing can be affected.

•    Suicidal behavior can be exhibited with depression.

•    Changes in the sleep patterns: it can be over sleeping and can be sleeplessness.

•    Thought induced depression can be also being at severe levels because they never be out that thoughts.

•    Postpartum depression can be experienced by the women (14%).

•    Feelings: These related to helplessness and hopelessness and they don’t normally get out of these feelings.

•    Some medications are also responsible for the depression existence.

•    Stress can be involved in having problems in relation ships, deaths, changes in life, diseases.

•    Thinking them as they are worthless and having a negative outlook most times.

•    Conditions related to physical problems like stress, chronic diseases (strokes, Heart attacks, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease) and the medications places him in the worst scenario.

•    Genetics also play an important role in depression.

•    Personality and their traits

Risk factors:

•    Stress and Family conditions.

•    Mood disorders.

•    Loss of loved ones.

•    Abuse (Physical, Mental, sexual, psychological).

•    Puberty and pregnancy.

•    Drinking Alcohol excessively.

•    Having members of family who attempted top suicide

•    Depressed mood cancer, Heart disease, Alzheimer’s or HIV/AIDS

•    Use of alcohol, drugs.

•    Recent child birth.

Depression in teens
Teens get depressed very soon too many reasons and they become violent and hostile in a very short time and they lose temper for very silly reasons. Pains and gap between their parents may cause them to over react.

Depression in older adults
Older have the loss of independence while they stay along with other family members and can also health problems associated too. The depression goes unrecognized because they never complain or say it
Suicidal behavior can be a part of older adults.

Depression in men

Men are generally too much emotions and the way they react is to the extreme levels. They feel them as worthless. Men have more depressive than women when compared to Anger, aggression, violence, reckless behavior, and substance abuse.

Depression in women
Depression rates are high in women too due to hormonal changes and imbalances some of the causes can be premenstrual syndrome, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, postpartum depression, and perimenopausal depression and they feel to eat more sleep more and soon gain weight.

Treatment:

Treating with Psychotherapy.

Treating with Antidepressants.

Treating with Physical Exercise.
